Summer Soup de Jeanne

This super easy recipe for a summer soup with cucumber, goat cheese, and mint comes from Marmiton, a French recipe site.  For those anglophones out there:

  • 1 cucumber, peeled
  • 8 ounces of fresh goat cheese
  • 8 ounces plain yogurt
  • Handful of mint leaves
  • 1 small garlic clove, crushed (optional)
  • Salt and paper to taste

Blend ingredients together and chill for 1-2 hours before serving.  Bon appetit!

Spoils from the Farm

Missing the Dupont Circle farmers’ market in DC and inspired by my Choate friend’s blog highlighting her successful visit there this fall, I convinced my FH and his brother and mum to go with me to a farm in Burgundy this fall.  Turns out that there’s a great one just down the road from their home in Auxerre.

Next on the list: joining a local CSA.  There’s one two metro stops away from us in Lyon that we’re planning to check out before our five-year anniversary dinner tomorrow night.  That’s right, folks - tomorrow marks five years since our first date.  I don’t know any better way to celebrate!
